Stevenson Farm
James Robert Etzler, a New Windsor farmer, bought this big brick home in Linwood after making a small fortune tenant farming wheat in WWI. His son Robert would later run the farm, and his widow, Laura Carter Etzler, eventually lived off the income from the farm. His daughter Helen Etzler, took the train from Linwood to Westminster to Western Maryland College (now known as McDaniel College), graduating in 1917.
1915. Successful farmers Alfred Stevenson and his wife Helen Alice Schweigart Stevenson are pictured on one of their seven farms in the Westminster area, which they operated with help from their 10 children.
