Digital Scrapbook: Uniontown Devilbiss Store
This Digital Scrapbook represents 2025 photographic documentation of what came to be known at the Devilbiss Store in Uniontown. The main structure was built around 1815 and expanded by Harrison H. Weaver 1859 into a gable-front store featuring ornamental bargeboards. The property became known as the Devilbiss Store in 1908 and operations (including postal service in the space) extended through the 20th century with Caroline “Toots” Devilbiss who passed away in 2018. The historic general store officially closed its doors in August 1999. HSCC is grateful to Kelly Heck Photography and the Devilbiss family and Donna Reese for collaborating on this preservation documentation project.
